“Before sending out any of your job search documents, be sure to proofread, proofread, proofread,” said Judy Reeves, Executive Career Consultant at SCC. “You can never be to sure when a potential job is on the line.”
Always have at least three people look over your documents for any errors you may have missed.
A lot of people say that being your own boss is unbeatable when it comes to meeting the needs of your family. However, that doesn’t mean self-employment is the only option.
An understanding boss who knows your competency level and doesn’t feel they have to monitor your every task, could be persuaded to let you work from home on a part-time basis or work with you on flexible scheduling. For tips on how to negotiate non-traditional work schedules, contact the experts at Live Job Coach.
Employers would like to pay you what they want and not a penny more, but the reality is that you won’t move from your current position unless you’re given a better offer.
The only way your prospective employer can have the full scope of what you’re getting now is if you tell him. More specifically, if you allow yourself to be thought of as a $70,000 candidate when in reality you are a $100,000 candidate, don’t be surprised to receive an underwhelming offer.
Bill Temple, Senior Executive Client Campaign Consultant at Stewart Cooper & Coon, has developed and utilized personal marketing strategies to help thousands of people obtain opportunities in line with their capabilities as well as desires. If you’re finding you’re career has hit a plateau and you’re not getting any enticing offers, you might want to consider working with him.
Because many companies are using resume scanning technology to weed out inferior applicants, it is imperative that candidates insert keywords into their resumes.
You can do this successfully by identifying the requirements of a company then relaying your relevant skills and experience, such as “new business development” or “bilingual.” Let an SCC Executive Career Consultant such as Oliver Cornell review your job search documents to see how effective they are and where improvements can be made.
As CEO of Stewart, Cooper & Coon, Inc., I have advised thousands of executives on their job search campaigns. Becoming depressed during a lengthy stretch of unemployment is something I see all too often among these talented business leaders.
When negative thoughts start to creep into your mind, slow down and objectively reflect on these damaging notions. Ask yourself “Am I jumping to conclusions or generalizing? What’s the most upsetting part of this hardship? What’s the best/worst that can happen? What’s most likely to happen?” These assessments can often dispel a self-fulfilling spiral of failure and help you cope during the job search process.
According to a client satisfaction survey, Stewart, Cooper, and Coon did very well. Clients were very satisfied with the similarity between what the initial executive consultant presented to them and the services actually delivered by the Campaign Director and the other members of your SC&C Support Team. Most clients thought SC&C’s administrative communications and services being conducted in a timely manner, the level of courtesy and professionalism.
Concerning our Campaign Directors and Staff Support Team most clients checked the “very satisfied” box. Our research team got postitive ressultes in terms of their responsiveness and courtesy.
In the comment section below this box, One client wrote, “Bill Temple is very knowledgeable, personable, professional and a real pleasure to work with.”
When reviewing the work of the resume and webfolio teams, in terms of the quality of their work and timeliness, Stweart, Cooper, & Coon got rave reviews.
As far as satisfaction for value of investment, client Mark K. wrote the following:
“I am happy about the fact that SC&C offers the extended service in my agteement with them. Should I change jobs or be downsized as part of another merger, I can come back to them and begin again to work with my team to find my next position. Bill Temple gave me excellent advice as I pursued both the positions I was targeting. Did the work to date meet or exceed my expectations, YES. I have to view this as a sunk cost that could benefit me in the future if the current new role does not pan out. I am willing to accept that but it still leaves a lump in my throat, at a time when cash flow is not where you want it.
Mark also commented that the areas of the campaign that stood out to him as being most beneficial are: “Resume, WebFolio, Research & Target Selections, Value Proposition Statements, and Bridging to the Calling Division were beneficial. I would highly recommend SC&C to others as I was very impressed from the start with Judy Reeves and Bill Temple only added to that. I can tell that you have some excellent resources on staff behind these two.
Stewart Cooper & Coon kindly thanks all our clients for their input!

He and our equally qualified SC&C team have guarded our excellent reputation since the onset of our business in 1995. Integrity and honesty are the watchwords of our Mission Statement and the work we do with the thousands of executive clients in search whom we serve each year with valuable and successful career campaign and transition programs. As opposed to others in the career management category, SC&C has been under the same ownership and management leadership since its inception. Licensed by the State of Arizona, we are a member in excellent standing within the Top Echelon Executive Recruiting Group, Better Business Bureau and the group of Fortune 1000 corporations we serve with recruiting, outplacement and pre-boarding services.
Ours is an organization that is known to under-promise and over deliver, one that assures the expectations of our clients are discussed in advance with each assigned Executive Coach to assure clarity and compatibility of our mutual goals.

“I have experience with Bill Temple at Stewart, Cooper and Coon; their system works… and Bill is one of the best coaches you will ever meet…a gentleman of the highest integrity.
Also, Stewart, Cooper and Coon will help you put together a web profile which is an effective marketing tool for executives, allowing recruiters or staffing personnel to quickly delve into your accomplishments and success stories. Understand, you will have to invest some time upfront to pull together all appropriate information to help (them) market your skills (your features, advantages and benefits, just like a product). However, you will be able to use this information from your web profile in so many ways:
- letter of qualifications
- follow up letters using appropriate success stories as examples of how "similar" challenges were addressed in the past
- introductory letters
- as notes in interviews to quickly address behavioral questions – give me an example of a time when…….
- first 90 day plan presentations
Further you will have access to Hoover's to pull all kinds of information on any company you desire to contact and SC&C will make the initial contacts if you so desire.
I am currently in the final stages of interviewing for a CEO position, my third interview. I am confident that I would not be in the final (candidate) group without Bill Temple's guidance.

As part of this series, today, I spoke with the Curtis W. and Lauren M., both of whom have utilized Stewart Cooper & Coon, Inc., executive placement services.
Bernadette: Curtis, How do you rate Stewart Cooper & Coon Vs. the Competition?
Curtis W: With other firms, I didn’t feel I knew very much after speaking with them but when speaking with Stewart Cooper & Coon, Inc., located in Phoenix, Arizona, I felt I had found the right company. At the other company all the work was left up to me to do. At Stewart Cooper and Coon, you get personal attention, regularly scheduled meetings, a lot of support from career coach, able to come to the offices and conduct meaningful in person interviews, whereas, other companies only do phone interviews.
Bernadette: Lauren, how about you? How do you rate Stewart, Cooper & Coon versus the competition?
Lauren M: I chose SC&C because they were the most credible in the industry. I found that the other companies were questionable and the value was not there for what the fee was. There is much more of hands on approach with Stewart Cooper & Coon Inc. I was working with a career coach and being able to effectively mold my campaign. The other company was not going to give me the same attention for the fee.
It appears that Stewart, Cooper & Coon, Inc. is a serious player in the career marketing and executive placement arena. More from other SC&C clients to following subsequent articles.
